WHAT DOES THE COOLING TOWER DO?

There are numerous information and publications on what the Water Cooling tower is and what it does.

In this article we will go through a different path and give you information on what the cooling towers are doing.

It is obvious where the cooling towers are used and the heart of many fabrics.

In all types of plants, water coolers are widely used at all temperatures above the cooling capacity of the chillers.

Chiller systems are produced with a working range of 7-12 degrees Celsius, and cooling of liquids at 20 degrees Celsius or more may cause the condenser to explode.

For this reason, liquids at higher temperatures can be cooled by chiller systems using only intermediate tanks.

For this reason, a closed loop or open loop water cooling tower is used during the cooling of liquids at 20 degrees and above.

if the construction of the water cooling tower to affect the air intake and the formations to close the tower almost completely makes the air intake or propulsion of the tower difficult, then the engine will be directly affected and the tower performance will be adversely affected.

We can say that a kind of tower will be like asthma.

The main logic in water cooling towers is based on the cooling of the remaining water by evaporating some of the water. With this logic, it is quite natural that the residues of water are left behind in a system based on evaporation, and that these residues are started to cling to the pool at first, and then to some places on the filling afterwards. This congestion reduces the performance of the tower as it shrinks the filler surface in water cooling towers.

The hanging of these sediments in the water instead of adhering to the surface of the tower can be achieved with chemistry and is a desirable condition. Suspended lime and similar minerals are purified from this sediment and biological debris by periodically releasing water residues from the bottom of the pool under high pressure by a method called blowdown.

Tower feed waters should be purified as much as possible from these deposits. The lime decontamination systems that provide this are called water softening devices, but these devices are sensitive and can be easily checked for lime leakage on daily basis. This is why maintenance personnel must be alert and periodically check that these devices work efficiently.
